Ren Community

Ren Community is an art gallery located in a small urban space in Hangzhou, China. The interior measures 13 meters long, 4.2 meters wide and 5.4 meters high. Along the long axis, the gallery is divided into three halls: front, middle and rear. The halls flow into one another and create layered, open areas. Rong

Rong is an art gallery interior divided into a main building and an auxiliary building. The original architectural structure was respected, and damaged wooden columns, beams and brackets were repaired. The wood was cleaned and scraped by hand to keep the mottled texture of the logs. In the negotiation area, a screen of hand polished metal pieces forms mountain shapes. A glazed enamel screen in the courtyard revives a traditional craft. Layered lighting, flower arrangements and a tea tasting area create a calm atmosphere that unfolds as visitors walk through the space.

Interpolation

Interpolation is an art gallery designed within Seokchon Lake Park in Seoul. The park contains a lake and two separate ring paths, one inner and one outer, divided by a four meter difference in elevation. The building mass is clad in curved aluminum panels, and the deck that meets the landscape is finished in exposed concrete. Ground source heat pumps and roof photovoltaic panels reduce energy use. The intent is to bring art into daily life.

Hushan

Jinzhong Kylin Mansion Hushan is an art gallery and club interior of 650 square meters in Shenzhen, completed in 2019. Most areas are connected, so the transitions between zones stay open and the atmosphere remains calm. A display wall outside the book bar holds a range of artworks. Thin wooden fences serve as partitions and continue into the outer space. Stone flooring with a rippled pattern suggests still water. A lantern made of light transmitting white lacquered glass marks the reception area. Chinese aesthetics are combined with modern building methods.
