Tao

Tao is a jewellery collection inspired by the traditional Chinese Taichi pattern. The collection includes bangles, earrings, a necklace and a ring. Through spatial thinking, the Taichi pattern is deconstructed into several structures that can be worn in different ways. An axle allows half of the earring to rotate 180 degrees, so the round form becomes a long earring. Silicone stoppers inside the necklace make the chain adjustable, and a buckle turns the necklace into a short double chain. The pieces are made of brass with silver or 24k gold plating.

Just is a wristwatch designed for quick and easy reading of the time. The case is flat and angled, and is thicker on the twelve o'clock side, so the dial faces the wearer. The time can be read without turning the wrist, for example while driving or while working with tools. A solid screw-in frame is fitted to the back of the case and replaces standard lugs, holding the 22 mm strap snugly. The position of the crown allows wear on the left or the right wrist. Five dial versions combine Arabic numerals and stick markers. The case measures 42 mm by 42 mm by 15 mm.

Mushroom Fantasy is a ring inspired by the world of mushrooms and childhood fairy tales. The ring is made of 18K yellow gold and is hand fabricated from scratch. The alloy, sheets, wires and tubes were all made by hand. Golden layers recall mushroom gills, while natural blue sapphires in different shades represent drops of rain. The layers and the sapphires appear suspended, without a visible base. The side view follows a golden spiral. A matte textured finish covers the surface. The ring measures 30 mm in width, 20 mm in depth and 30 mm in height.

Elysium is a decorative figurine that shows a hummingbird drinking nectar from a flower. The figurine is made of silver and set with 1848 lab-grown gemstones. Elysium consists of 31 unique parts and measures 116 mm by 116 mm by 165 mm. A computerised workflow, three-dimensional printing and a patented direct casting method were used to form a hollow shell with a metal thickness of 0.35 mm. The bird meets the stem at a single point, so the centre of mass was calculated with care. The stem shows zones of destruction with a black finish, recalling the fragile balance of nature.

JAM Vision Track3 is an eyeglass frame designed for a low environmental impact. The fronts and tips are made of PA11 by additive manufacturing, which limits material waste. The temples and bridge are laser cut from fully recycled stainless steel. Each frame is made on demand, so stock and surplus are avoided. All parts are joined mechanically, without solder or glue, so a single part can be replaced if it breaks. A patented magnetic hinge removes the need for screws and was tested through 100,000 folding cycles without loss of performance. The complete frame weighs less than 20 grams.

The outer side of the temples and the front surface of the frame are designed with radial textures, which improves the strength of the frame and makes it have a recognizable aesthetic.

This project created from a sense of an Orchid garden. The overall design looks refreshing, vibrant and lively. It is an adjustable size ring with various shapes of Amethyst in the flower petals. The combination of colors is contrast yet attractive with purple and off-white. It consists of duo gems, Amethyst and Pearl and another Pearl with a little butterfly on it. When you wear it on, it looks like a flower and bud floating in between two fingers which contain nature feeling and momentum of movement.

Siin Beirut is a gold charm bracelet of 5 letters based on the Kufic Arabic script forming the word "Beirut", with diacritic dots in turquoise stones. The charms are of a modular unit with characters of 2.5x5.5 units; this structure allows for the ascenders and descenders of the Arabic characters to be uniform in size. While these characters are often connected, these isolated ones can be moved around to form new words. The pointed arches in the script are laser engraved on top to mirror the arches found in Beirut's traditional architecture.

The 41 millimeter case is made of surgical grade 316L stainless steel with a physical vapor deposition coating, which resists corrosion and scratches. A Seiko VD72 quartz movement with a date function is used, and the crown sets the date, the hours and the minutes. The water resistance rate is 5ATM, or 50 meters. The 20 millimeter strap has a quick release system for a fast change of style. Clean lines and a simple framework guide the whole design.

Orbit A Collection is a series of handcrafted jewelry that includes a brooch and two necklaces. Each piece is one of a kind and combines sterling silver with plastic tubes, resin clay and paint. The same plastic component is repeated as a basic module to create varied wearable and sculptural forms. Traditional metalsmithing methods such as soldering, forming and chain making are used, together with plastic welding, sanding and coloring. The collection reflects the relationship between traditional craft and modern mass production.
