Layers of greenery and simple geometric lines are interwoven to reflect the aesthetic of eastern brush painting and calligraphy. A welcoming trail is lined with Taiwan pines, camphor trees, Madagascar almonds and bald cypresses. Grass, a small bridge, a flowing stream, blooming trees and a pond at the gate form a rustic scene. Xanadu Landscape

Xanadu

Xanadu is a landscape design for a residential community. The plan uses a small site to create a green setting within a busy city. A large green area is kept alongside the buildings, and two entrances connect to a narrow road on the southeast side. A wide sidewalk is planted with varied trees and fitted with furniture suited to the local character. A green hill, a water feature and cloud-like slate stones frame the entrance porch. A hidden fountain jets water at irregular times and cools the air. Recycled water and permeable methods reduce the urban heat island effect.
